Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul & More In The Philippines For Exhibition Games

Quietly, Kobe Bryant’s “barn storming tour” is taking place in Manilla. Bryant along with a group of other NBA superstars (including the President of the NBA’s Players Association) will play two exhibition games at the Araneta Coliseum.

The roster consists of NBA MVP Derrick Rose, scoring champion Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, former Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans, James Harden, Derek Fisher, Derrick Williams, the No. 2 draft pick, and dunk contest winner, Javale McGee. Mamba is the coach.

The NBA Players Association seems to have done a great job ensuring that the mistakes of the ’98 lockout aren’t repeated. Working with the agents to not only ensure players were armed with the information on how to save in the event the season starts late (remember, I’m not even addressing the other far worst option, it doesn’t exist) they also are supporting players that are considering or have already signed agreements to play overseas during the lockout. There is a clause in place in most deals that the player can return to the NBA once the lockout ends.

Want to know what the “Big 3” were up to? Dwyane Wade was getting a facial then set hopping from LeBron’s “Take a Sheet” commercial shoot to girlfriend Gabrielle Union’s set (she’s currently filming “Think like a lady, act like a man).

While Chris Bosh and his wife Adrienne attended the comedy show of Heat executive Alonzo Mourning’s charity event, ZO’s Summer Groove. Dave Chappelle was the surprise guest.

Celebrating it’s 15th year, this will be the first year the all-star game won’t take place. Casualty of the lockout.
