Brian Shaw Didn’t Hear From Laker Officials Until 3 Weeks After Mike Brown Coaching Announcement

Jim Buss is really going hard to prove he’s his own man running the Lakers organization. It seems as if the lack of courtesy during the coaching process extended to former Lakers Assistant Brian Shaw. Let’s forget that Shaw has won several championships with the franchise as both Assistant coach and player. 12 years, 7 finals. 5 rings

Shaw was notified of Mike Brown’s hiring on ESPN and didn’t hear from anyone in the Lakers organization for 3 weeks. I understand it’s a business but where is the professional courtesy? Did the Lakers really believe that they could lose Mike Brown to another team in 3 days?!

Shaw recently signed on with the Indiana Pacers as an assistant coach. Frank Vogel became the head coach back in January which was the catalyst to an 8th seed playoff birth (the team’s first since 2006)

They always say the NBA is a business. Crappy, but it is what it is.
